Albuquerque, September 15, 2009: Catching the Dream will make a total of 25 grants this school year for the Reading Award Program (RAP), the organization announced today. Each grant will be for $1,000, and must be used only as incentives to get Native American students to read books. Applicants are urged to consider providing students with a comprehensive bibliography of books to read as outlined in the CTD book “Reading for College.”
The deadline for application for the grants is October 30, 2009. Applications must be submitted on the form provided by CTD. To receive an application, schools and tribes must call, write, fax, or e-mail CTD (CTD4DeanChavers@aol.com) to request the appropriate form. Maximum length of proposals is one page. Applicants who request the forms by e-mail will receive them by e-mail.
