Funding Notice (opportunity)

FEDERAL GRANT NOTICE:

HHS is making available $16 million for 16 grants from $1 million to $2 million dollars per year for up to 6 years to fund community mental health programs for children and families.

Eligibility: State governments; local governments; tribal governments or organizations.

Deadline: Dec. 8.

Summary: The purpose of this program is to support governments in developing integrated home and community-based services for children and youth with serious emotional disturbances and their families by encouraging the development and expansion of effective systems of care.

A "system of care" involves collaboration across agencies and families to improve community-based, culturally and linguistically competent services for children and youth with serious emotional disturbances and their families.

Grantees will be expected to develop, implement, expand and disseminate broad, innovative system changes that improve outcomes for children, youth and families and create long-term positive change in services and supports.
